The Safer Families Centre
Our Centre is committed to transforming health sector policy and practice responses to domestic, family and sexual violence through research, training, support tools and evaluation. We collaborate internationally and locally with researchers, practitioners and our lived experience victim-survivor group (WEAVERs) to promote safety, wellbeing and healing of families.

Some of our Safer Families team were lucky enough to attend the 25th Nursing Network on Violence Against Women International Conference November 13-15: Promoting Health Equity to End Gender-Based Violence - Innovations in Research, Practice, & Advocacy. We had the opportunity to present on ‘Health messaging scripts for domestic and family violence - incorporating the voices of victim-survivors’, ‘Reproductive coercion and abuse: Understanding perpetrator motivations and overlaps with coercive control’ and ‘Understanding the context and dynamics of violence to enhance measurement’.
